Welcome to the portal for development of tourism in the NEPR
The North-Eastern systematic region is one of the eight statistical regions of the Republic of Macedonia. It is situated in the North-Eastern part of the country and borders with the region of Skopje and also with the Eastern region. This region encloses the confluence area of the rivers Pchinja and Kriva. The total acreage of this region is 2310 km2, which represents 9,3% of the total acreage of the Republic of Macedonia.
On July 17 2008 was formed a Centre for the development of the North-Eastern systematic region (NESR). The North-Eastern systematic region encloses six municipalities: Kratovo, Kriva Palanka, Kumanovo, Rankovce, Staro Nagorichane.

The project is financed by the Ministry of local self-government (Bureau for regional development) through the Programme for equal and maintainable regional development 2009. The project is managed by the Centre for development of the North-Eastern systematic region
The project is implemented by the Consortium formed between Ideja O.K. and Balkan Development Solutions BDS.

KUKLICA
An interesting and unique appearance of about 150 Eastern pyramids and pillars made of volcanic rocks (tuff, “brechi”) and from 4 to 10 m high. A part of the pillars are formed like human figures, so this appearance is called “Joyful wedding” by the locals.

KOKINO
An eminent rising from bare, solid volcanic rocks with a form of pillars. Between some separate stone blocks-pillars, there are cracks and breaches that if they are seen from certain central point of the rising, show some characteristic positions of the Sun and the Moon.

LAKE LIPKOVSKO
A smaller artificial lake formed with damming of the river Lipkovska with an arch concrete dam. The lake is long about 1.3 km, wide 120 m and with a greatest depth of 35 m.
